Dawn Kwan's paintings are greatly influenced by her travels around the world since young. Her visits to museums, art galleries, zoos, forests in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and many other countries expanded her exposure and experiences. She held great admiration for famous artists like Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee who led blazing trails in their passion and imagination.
Her photographic memory as well as the ability to observe and absorb fine details stand her in good stead. Her stamina and perseverance led her to complete over 350 paintings before age 19 as she forged on to experiment and expand her repertoire. Dawn uses mainly acrylic paints but at times, she pushes the boundry by infusing salt, chemicals and sprays to create tones, shadows and effects for variance in her artistic style.
