Biography

Dawn Kwan (b.1997), is a gifted Singaporean painter and sculptor. Currently at age 22, she has completed over 400 paintings and has held 8 major solo art exhibitions in collaboration with Singapore Tourism Board in Beijing (Singapore Seasons in China), Spanish Tourism Office, Swiss Embassy, etc.

 

Dawn Kwan has been profiled on television programmes including Prime Time Morning Singapore on Channel News Asia, Mediacorp’s Superkids and Arts Forward on Okto. She has been widely featured on newspapers, magazines and newsletters including The Business Times, Straits Times, Wealth Magazine, Robb Report, My Paper, Chinese dailies, Resort World Sentosa newsletter etc.   

In 2007, Dawn was commissioned by HSBC to present her painting to President Nathan at the prestigious HSBC Youth Excellence Award night. She has presented her paintings to Ministers and dignitaries at corporate events, ceremonies and art launches. 

 

At age 11 (2008), Dawn’s painting entitled ‘When Dawn Overtakes The Night’ won the coveted Highly Commended Award for Abstract Category in The 27th UOB Painting Of The Year Exhibition.

 

"Dawn Kwan. Art Awakening" is a publication that captures over 100 paintings and documents her journey as a child artist from age 5 to 12. This art book, featuring her first four major solo art exhibitions, is available in all National Libraries in Singapore.
